A proposal is over in about eleven seconds and you will want every one of them. We hide in plain sight, we know the light on the bridge at that hour, and we do not blow the surprise. Then, once you can both breathe again, we stay for the session — because you're already dressed and it's already the best evening of the year.

There is no second take. Everything about how we work — position, lens, silence — exists to protect these few frames.

Chapter 02

Mount Bonnell, 6:40pm

The overlook is the most-asked-on spot in Austin for a reason, and the most crowded. Getting a private-feeling frame up there is a matter of arriving early and knowing which ledge faces the light.
