Chapel Dulcinea

A free wedding chapel on a bluff, with no roof over the altar.

14 frames·Chapel Dulcinea, Wimberley, TX

Chapel Dulcinea sits on the edge of a Hill Country bluff outside Wimberley — stucco walls, a red tile roof, an arcade, a bell you pull by rope, and a sanctuary open to the sky. It costs nothing to book, which is the fact everyone leads with, but the thing that actually matters to a photograph is the overlook: walk twenty steps past the chapel and the hill country opens up behind you.

Booking

Free to reserve and booked in short slots. We work fast and we do not overrun anybody.

Two locations, twenty steps apart.

The chapel gives you stucco, arches and shade. Walk out the far side and you have an open bluff with nothing in front of it. Most sessions here use both and look like they traveled.

The arcade, mid-morning. Shade on one side, hard sun on the other — that line is the whole lighting plan.

At the rail. The hill country runs to the horizon and there is nothing built in the way of it.

We told our families it was free and nobody believed us until they turned up.

Six hands on one rope. It is the only piece of participation a chapel this small asks for, and it never fails.
