Teams

Everybody, in one frame, and nobody looking like a hostage.

19 frames·Austin and Central Texas — at your office, or a partner studio·Photos in three business days

The company photo is the hardest easy job there is. Forty people, one patch of usable light, somebody's lunch break ending, and a result that has to work as a website header, a wall print and a LinkedIn banner. We plan the position and the order before anyone comes outside, so the part where your team is standing around takes four minutes — and then we stay for the hour where they stop posing, which is usually where the picture you actually use comes from.

Send the headcount and the building. We'll tell you where to stand and how long it takes.

Line-up of about ten colleagues in business dress standing shoulder to shoulder outdoors
Four men in suits and blazers standing on a staircase in front of a planted green wall
Four people, one staircase, and a rule about who stands where.

The group photo is the hardest easy thing there is.

Everyone assumes it's the quick bit. It's the only frame all day where a single blink, a single closed eye in the third row, costs you the whole picture.

The whole company, outside the building, in about four minutes.

And the hour either side of it.

Once the line-up is done and the camera is apparently finished, people go back to being recognisable. That's the half of the shoot most companies actually run out of.

Two colleagues laughing together while walking along a downtown Austin street
Three colleagues walking and talking on a street with the Texas Capitol in the distance
Walking shots are a cliché because they work.
Two colleagues looking at a laptop screen together against a brick wall
Colleagues talking around a table in a plant-filled meeting room
Man smiling at an open laptop during a meeting in front of a teal wall
Four colleagues laughing together outdoors on a city street

Nobody can perform this on request. You get it by still being in the room twenty minutes after everyone assumes you've stopped.

Two

Small teams. Same problem.

Three founders is not an easier group photo than three hundred people. It's a harder one, because there is nowhere for anybody to hide.

Three colleagues sitting together on a sofa in front of a white breeze-block wall
Three colleagues standing by a window with a city view behind them
Four colleagues sitting on the grass in a park with the downtown Austin skyline behind them
Work crew in caps and branded shirts standing by a truck in low evening sun
End of the day, and nobody changed out of their work clothes for it.
Group of colleagues sitting along an outdoor bench, laughing
Brewery worker in a branded black shirt carrying a keg on his shoulder

Sometimes the team photograph is one person holding the thing they make. It counts, and it's often the only one anybody remembers.

A team photo has to survive somebody leaving. Shoot it so it's about the work, not the roster.

Send us the headcount.

How many people, which building, and what the picture is for. We'll tell you where to stand and how long we need.
