Zilker Park
Three hundred and fifty acres of front lawn.
Zilker is the park Austin actually uses — the great lawn, the creek, the springs, and a skyline sitting right across the water from all of it. It is big enough that a session can go from open grass to shaded water in five minutes, and public enough that you plan around the crowd rather than pretend it isn't there.
Weekends are packed. Early morning and the last hour of light are the two windows.
