Circle C Ranch
Caliche trails, live oaks, and bluebonnets right up to the curb.
10 frames·Circle C Ranch, southwest Austin
Circle C is a big southwest Austin neighbourhood with a metro park and a greenbelt running through the middle of it — pale caliche paths, scattered oaks, tall grass, and fields that go to bluebonnets in spring. It photographs as country while being ten minutes from a school run, which is exactly why families here book on a weekday evening rather than driving out to the Hill Country.

Pale trail underfoot, oaks in the middle distance, and grass tall enough to hide a pushchair. It reads as open land in a frame and it is four minutes from the house.

Late March. The bluebonnets come up along the greenbelt edge and stay about a month.

We booked it because we could walk there. I did not expect it to look like we had gone somewhere.
