Commons Ford Ranch is a metropolitan park out west where a large field was put back to native prairie — head-high grasses in late summer, sunflowers, wildflowers, and a treeline of old oaks running down to Lake Austin. It is the closest thing to open country inside the city limits, and nothing about it needs dressing.
Booking
Twenty minutes west. The grass is tall — long trousers or accept the seed heads.

Out in the prairie

I picked the sunflowers up at the shop on the way. They are in about half the pictures and they cost eight dollars.
