Mount Bonnell has been Austin's favorite overlook since the 1850s, back when you had to earn the view on foot. It is still the highest point in the city, and still where people come to ask the big question. A hundred and six steps up, the Hill Country opens out behind you. We time it for the light and let the place do the rest.
